After a full 3 years have past since GSR has been racing with the virtual Idol sensation Hatsune Miku. The GT world in Japan has been able to accept their subculture to be included as a new type of entertainment in the world of motorsport.
After teaming up with COX last year, GSR cameback to STUDIE AG's side with TeamUKYO to bring the 2010 BMW Z4 E89 GT3 into the Super GT 2011 series with the new look for Racing Miku especially designed and illustrated by Yuichi Murakami.
On the other hand, this 2011 there are 4 (four) more Itasha-based teams who entered Super GT which follows:
1. NAC Pacific LMP Ika-Musume Ferrari F430 GT300 (first appearance at FUJI GT 400km)
2. DIJON Racing Suzumiya Haruhi no Reshingu 997 GT3-RSR GT300 (first appearance at FUJI GT 400km)
3. Mooncraft Shiden UNIT1 EVA-RACING GT300 (first appearance at FUJI GT 400km)
4. Porsche 911 GT3-R UNIT2 EVA RACING GT300 (first appearance at FUJI GT 400km)
And so it is expanding, itasha is now being recognized by the Japanese racing community with open arms. It is great to see that the Manga world has evolved this wider than it was expected to be.
And we all know that the meaning of Itasha means "Painmobile" but original defines as "Italian Mobile" from its lingual origin.
Itai - Painful
sha - Mobile
The reason it is called as Itasha is because of the fact that getting your car stick with Anime character decals isn't just a month worth of salary, it cost a lot... but the passion for it makes Itasha isn't painful at all...
